Churchdown Village Infant School

Our Vision and Values

The children are at the heart of everything that we do at Churchdown Village Infant School, and we strive to create an environment which provides children with the skills, mindset and opportunities they need to achieve academically, whilst developing their cultural capital.  We understand that not only Churchdown, but the wider world around us is rich in diversity, and we aim to bring this to life for the children, through not only our curriculum, but also trips, visitors and other enrichment opportunities.

Our school values - 'Be kind, Be honest, Be determined' support children in developing to be well-rounded individuals, with a positive learning attitude, mindful and tolerant of others.

Our school rules and school values are reinforced through regular assemblies, circle times and through daily interactions with members of the team, and between children.  All children know and understand our rules and values, and how they help us to 'belong' here at Churchdown Village Infant School, and to be our very best every day.

"The school is warm and welcoming. Staff have high expectations for behaviour. Pupils understand these expectations well. They know that the school rules, ‘be ready, be respectful, be safe’, help them to know how to behave. As a result, pupils are polite and well-mannered."

We are a friendly, welcoming and caring part of the community, and can offer support to whole families - relationships are at the centre of everything we do.  Finally, we strive to develop confident, happy individuals, who know how to keep themselves healthy and safe, in body and mind.  Our school rules of 'Ready.  Respectful.  Safe.' support all children in understanding our expectations, and how to look after themselves and others in the best possible way.

"The school helps pupils to realise its vision that they will become mindful, respectful and tolerant of others."

Working Together for Your Child’s Success

At our school, we believe that a strong partnership between home and school is key to helping every child thrive. The Home School Agreement sets out how we can work together to support learning, wellbeing, and personal development. By building positive relationships and sharing a commitment to your child’s education, we can ensure the best possible outcomes for every pupil.

By choosing to attend our school, you are agreeing to support and uphold the principles outlined in our Home School Agreement, which reflects our shared commitment to your child’s education and wellbeing.
