This week Mrs Guest and Mrs Western went to Plymouth to receive the International School Award from The British Council. There were about 10 schools from the South West region receiving their awards. The ceremony included speeches from Jill Bailey the British Council Ambassador for the south west, Hilary Frank, a linguist, who has acted as interpreter for the Olympics and Rugby World Cup. She was truly inspirational and demonstrated that with determination and courage you can land your dream job. The Lord Mayor of Plymouth then expressed her congratulations and handed over to John Rolfe from The British Council to deliver the award presentations.
The highlight of the whole event was listening to pupils from some of the schools discussing their experiences of learning about other faiths and cultures. They spoke confidently and passionately it was a real pleasure listening to them.
