Today was Maths Problem Solving Day. We started with a maths workshop which showed us how to work as a team and develop our problem solving skills using shapes.
Then we went round to different classes to do some maths workshops. We focused on solving problems in lots of different ways. We used apparatus to help us find out the answers and explored different strategies to help us.
We practised sequencing numbers to find out answers, dominoes strategies to win the game, we sorted teddies coloured clothes in as many ways as we could. We also focused on addition and subraction problems including adding 3 one digit numbers to colour in a beetle and used dominoes to find totals of 25 - the challenge to use the least amount of dominoes in the string.
