Friends of the School

Let us introduce you to ‘Friends of the School’. We’re a parent-led group that works with the school, to raise additional funds that all of our children will benefit from; both inside and outside of the classroom.

Thanks to your support and generosity, this year we’re able to donate a significant sum to the school towards new playground markings to make playtimes even more fun and keep our children active. Among other things, we’re also delighted to be able to pay for the coaches for the children to go to the pantomime again this year and will be subsidising some of the cost of the trips for every year group in the summer term.

The FOTS have got an exciting year of fundraising events ahead: from cake sales, to Christmas cards; from the ‘Secret Wrapping Room’, to a Quiz Night; and from our fabulous Easter Egg Hunt, to our very own circus in the spring term. Watch this space!

We’re a friendly team and have a lot of fun working together throughout the year. We always need new members though and it’s a great way to support your child through school.  So whether you have the time to be part of the committee team, or would just like to be on our ‘Helpers List’ and lend a hand at events, please do get in touch with us!

You can contact us through the school office, by e-mail ( or by speaking to one of our Year Group Reps:

CVIS is hugely grateful to the Friends of the School for their continued hard work in raising money for the school.  Over the last two years they have raised money to replace our playground markings, paid for coaches to the pantomime, brought vegetable planters, purchased camera equipment and contributed to the school and classroom reward systems, (amongst others).  This year they are helping us raise money for our adventure playground equipment.  If you are able to support the FotS with their fundraising efforts we would be extremely thankful! - Julie Guest

Easter Egg Hunt

Final Figure Raised -  £1150.00 with a couple of eggs to sell, fantastic work!

We had a fantastic turn out I estimate around 900 to possibly 1000 people would have attended during the 4 hours.   We have had a lot of positive feedback from parents on how everyone enjoyed the day.

'Doris' the Ice Cream Van also went down very well and had a good days trade judging on the fantastic donation we received.

Thanks to Miss Keating and Mrs Williams for opening up and taking part in the Hunt and Miss Ganderton and Mrs Sellars for selling tickets.

A huge thank you to the FOT'S team that helped before and on the day, without them the hunt would not have happened.

We would like to thank out sponsors:
